Quote of the Month: A mess is like a balloon, don’t blow it up.

Happy New Years! We hope you had a great Holiday Season, for us it was sad to see the Christmas tree taken down. You know something though after we got our presents we didn’t mind about our old stuff we gave away, we also had a good Thanksgiving and boy did we eat.

One more thing before we go into this month’s topic. Remember, feel free to email us at kids@momtime.net it could be anywhere from questions about our newsletters to questions about our book to anything on organizing! You should as well remember to get permission from your parents. One thing we make as a rule, KIDS ONLY if adults need help on organizing they can e-mail our mom at Cheryl@momtime.net. Also you can tell other kids about this site. So they can have assistance with organizing.

Okay now to this month’s topic, In November we went to Owego, New York and from Long Island it took about 4-5 hours anyway we learned something to help us keep ourselves occupied. Here are some steps that are easy as 1-2-3!

1. Know your trip.
2. What will you need on the way?
3. (a) what are problems that can happen in the car?
(b) How can you prevent these problems?

Remember, our goal is to be practical so we will give your our story of how we used these principles. The sentences in bold are keywords.

Two nights before the trip when our dad got home from work he got into his normal clothes and then got on the internet then he logged on to Mapquest.com® and got the directions, found out the mileage & how long the trip would be. Then Jarrett and our dad got out some maps of New York and mapped it out just to make sure there was not a faster way (Jarrett is good with roadways.) Then the next night we packed a bag of stuff to keep us entertained we call car bags in other words we looked at what we needed for the car ride. Then, we thought what are things that can happen during the car ride? Well, our bottoms usually get sore so we should bring pillows to sit on so we prevented what we don’t like happening. Anyway we have to say the trip went well except for the Bronx because Interstate 95 had the worst traffic you had ever seen so we had to add a hour because that’s how long we were in the Bronx and Jarrett was angry because we missed the ramp to the alternate route.

Anyway the trip was fun. So that’s what happens when you plan a trip. Sorry this newsletter is so short but meanwhile we are saving the book money to get our own website and trail off our mom’s.

Until Next Month, Happy New Year!

Jarrett Carter, Janae Carter and Jolene Carter
